So, it's 10:05 EST, and I've been bawling for the past 10 minutes over a television show. And despite what people who shall remain my mother might say, I don't do this all that often. But like most people in this episode, I must defer to the power of forces greater than myself. Like the CM writing staff and cast.

The only thing you can trust is the ground beneath you. Until one day, it shifts. )

I was so pissed in July when the news came. So pissed. But there's still so much I love about the show, and they've sucked me in for the time being.

The internet is back up here, and I'm relearning a full-size keyboard. So: IT'S COMMENT FIC A-GO-GO!

Or, why Em seems congenitally not able to write anything short.  Yet again, the credit goes to my muses, [livejournal.com profile] melliyna  and [livejournal.com profile] katewallace , without whom I am nothing.

Disclaimers: Nothing in either the West Wing or Criminal Minds fandom belongs to me. They belong to Sorkin, Bernero, Wells, Gordon, etc.

Title: "Easy Child"
Fandom: The West Wing
Rating: FRC
Genre: Drabble/Gen/Angst
Prompt: "Sam Seaborn, the easy child"
Characters: Toby POV.
Timing: Sometime during early S3.

******

Sam burns slow, and he burns cold.  )

Title: "Morning's Guard"
Fandom: Criminal Minds
Rating: FRC
Genre: Fluff/Angst/Friendship
Characters: Team, with a focus on Rossi, JJ and Hotch.
Spoilers: 5.21, "Exit Wounds"
Prompt: "The next time Dave and Aaron shared a room after "Nights' Watch" (or the next morning)"

*******

JJ Jareau had a list. Not a physical, paper-list, certainly. But it was an important one, nonetheless. )

Disclaimers: No member of the Criminal Minds team belongs to me, they belong to Bernero, Gordon, et al. I just have lots of fun playing in their sandbox. And all the lyrics quoted here in belong to the Man in Black, used in homage.
Rating: FRC. Completely cracky fluff fic. Only a few scattered salty words.
Genre: Gen/Crack-Fic/Song-Fic/Friendship
Spoilers:  None. Set in the nebulous near-future.
Characters: Rossi POV, starring the whole team.

Note: Title from the lyrics of Johnny Cash's "A Boy Named Sue". This fic was written because a)I have an awesome and unhealthy love for Johnny Cash, and b) I was listening to a live version of "Boy Named Sue" at work the other day while thinking about CM. So then this fic screamed at me until I wrote it. :)

Summary: Karaoke!Fic. David Rossi is the Lord of Chaos, especially where Hotch is concerned. Nefarious doings ensue, involving beer, the "kids", and his secret knowledge of Hotch's musical tastes.

"But ya ought to thank me, before I die, / For the gravel in ya guts and the spit in the eye /Cause I'm the son-of-a-bitch that named you 'Sue'." )

Disclaimer: None of the people from the Criminal Minds universe belong to me. I only play with them somewhat ungently, and put them back when I'm done.
Rating: FRT (no gore, lots and lots and lots of angst.)
Genre: Gen/Future!Fic/Angst
Series: Dragon'Verse
Spoilers: Future!Fic, so everything up to 5x19, basically. Explicitly for 4.25/25-5.09, AKA the Foyet Arc.
Characters: Spencer Reid, Jennifer Jareau, David Rossi, Jack Hotchner, an OFC, Aaron Hotchner

Notes: a) Title from an old sportcasting joke, that I attribute to Keith Olbermann.
b) Sequel to "That Sword Nor Spear" and "Unholy Geometry". Yes, I know, it took a while. Mea maxima culpa.
c) Because [livejournal.com profile] fabrisse , after the last story, suggested that it "sounds like they need a pattern reader." Subtlest translation I've seen of "Needs Moar Reid." And she was right.

Summary:  While Hotch is in St. Elizabeth's, his loved ones struggle with the fallout. And an old friend comes to visit. But he may not be the only one.

When he was saying nothing, talking seemed like the solution. When he started talking, you found out the problem was worse then you thought. )

Disclaimers: I don’t own Aaron Hotchner, Jennifer Jareau, etc. They belong to Eddie Bernero and Mark Gordon.
Rating:
FRT,  for angst.

Spoilers
: General, up to to season 5.
Genre:  Gen/ Hurt/Comfort
Pairings:
None
Notes: a) Written for [livejournal.com profile] bluerosefairy 's prompt at the The Dudley Do-Right Memorial Peril/Hurt/Comfort/Id-Fic-Athon: CM Gen/AU/Crack/Crossover Edition . Which you should all go post at.

Prompt: "Hotch and JJ, children as salvation, children as damnation."

Summary: " ...right now, he's his/hers. In this midnight hour, he belongs to JJ alone, and damned if she will give him up.

*******

JJ can't explain it. She usually doesn't want to. She knows it's unfair to Will. She knows she's been unfair to Will nearly since the day they've met. She's trying to overcome that, but JJ just hasn't managed it yet. )

Disclaimers: I don’t own Aaron Hotchner,  David Rossi, etc. They belong to Eddie Bernero and Mark Gordon.
Rating:
FRT,  for some highly salty language.

Spoilers
: General, up to to season 5.
Genre:  Gen/ Hurt/Comfort
Pairings:
None (Unless you consider Hotch and Rossi snarking at each other a pairing.)
Notes: a) Written for [livejournal.com profile] melliyna 's prompt at the The Dudley Do-Right Memorial Peril/Hurt/Comfort/Id-Fic-Athon: CM Gen/AU/Crack/Crossover Edition . Which you should all go post at.

Prompt: "Hotch, Rossi in peril. Bonus points if it's JJ, Garcia and Emily doing the rescuing. Chocolate cupcakes with sprinkles on top if Hotch gets referred to as Mom, Rossi as Dad and they act like it."

Summary: "Goddamn California." Rossi and Hotch find themselves in a really complicated situation. Involving redwoods. But JJ and Emily are there to save the day.

*****
"Damn it, Hotch, could you moan or groan just a little? The 'stoic through all pain' bit is starting to wear a bit thin." )

Disclaimers: No member of the BAU or the fictional FBI belongs to me, though I love them dearly. They are the playthings of Messrs. Gordon, Bernero, and Mundy.
Rating: FRT (No gore, lots of angst)
Genre: Gen/Future!Fic/Angst
Series: Dragon'Verse
Spoilers: Future!Fic, so everything up to 5x11 (especially for Season 5's opening arc)

Characters: Jack Hotchner; Emily Prentiss; JJ Jareau.

Notes:

a) Prequel to That Sword Nor Spear.... Will make no sense at all without reading that.
b) Because [info]fabrisse , [info]katewallace , et al, are very persuasive people.
c) And now I have more story ideas dancing around in my head. Thank you all so very much. *raspberry*

Summary: Future!Fic: "She depended on Hotch to be there. Maybe a little too much, if she was honest with herself." What happened in the 36 hours before Jack's midnight phone call to Dave.

When Jack had called her, that awful day, part of Emily Prentiss had been surprised. )

Spoilers: Future!Fic, so everything up to 5x11 (especially for Season 5's opening arc)

Characters: David Rossi, Jack Hotchner; everyone else in mention.
Pairing:Garcia/Kevin
, JJ/Will

Notes:

a) Written for the  "Criminal Minds Gen-A-Thon II: It's Back Edition", in which you should all totally go participate.
b) Damn it, I try to write happy stuff, but Lady Angst, she has cruel wiles.
c)Title from "Saint George and the Dragon".
d) ETA: First story in what I am tentatively calling the Dragon'Verse.

Prompt: Rossi and Jack, ""fairytales do not tell children that dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairytales tell children that dragons can be killed.""

Summary: Future!Fic. 5 years after leaving the BAU for good, David Rossi gets a panicked midnight phone call from Quantico. Because some days, the dragon wins.

The dragon none to death might bring/ By any means they could invent/ His skin more hard than brass was found/That sword nor spear could pierce nor wound... )

Disclaimers: None of the BAU belong to me, though I love them dearly. All the fun toys belong to Mark Gordon and Eddie Bernero, though Eddie in particular can’t seem to play gently with his nice things.
Rating: FRC. All the whumping mentioned here was inflicted by Chris Mundy, and I am only filling in the comfort half.

Genre: Post-Ep/Gen/Hurt-Comfort

Spoilers: Set immediately after the events of  “Nameless, Faceless”, so BIG spoilers up to 5x01.

Characters: Garcia, Reid, JJ, Hotch

Pairing: None

Notes: a) This is (somewhat) part of my Hotch/Garcia post-ep series, retroactively tagged as the NightWatch’verse.  Which started with “I Watched”, and the most recent of which was “The Devil and Mr. Coffee”. (Which is now necessarily AU, given that the ending was Bernero’d by the premiere.)

b) Yes, I know, I should be working on Chapter Three of VITA, but I have writer’s block on that, and this story would NOT LET ME BE until I wrote it.

c) I have actually scored the eponymous word in Scrabble, in real life. True facts.

Summary:  In the peace of evening, after the harsh light of day, Garcia goes to visit her boys in the hospital.

********

“Wait, is that really a word? Or did you just come up with that on the fly?” )

Disclaimers: None of the members of the BAU Team, current or former, or John Blackwolf, belong to me, although I wish they did. Neither does Hotch’s dad, though I gave him a first name. The ER doc belongs to me, though. But I make nothing off this, only feedback and love. The title belongs to the late, great Robert Johnson, and his fantastic song.

Rating: FRT. Mentions of violence, injury and blood. Lots of psychic Hotch-whump.

Spoilers: BIG HUGE AWFUL ONES for the end of 4.25/26, “To Hell and Back”.

Genre:  Gen/Post-Ep/Angst/AU (due to the events of 5x01)

Summary:  After being shot by George Foyet, Hotch is hovering between life and death. To survive, he will need the help of a few old friends.

bibliothekara: (Default)
Disclaimers: I don’t own any members of the BAU team, or the beautiful folk song “The Logger Lover” that appears herein, please please don’t sue me, o powers that be.

Rating: K- Completely harmless.

Spoilers:  Up to 4.13. Set sometime before 4.14, after the return of JJ

Genre:  Friendship/Hurt-Comfort

Credit: The song that I know as “The Logger Lover”, that appears here, was written by James Stevens, and sung to me as a child.

Summary: Bickering, joking, shop talk, and some singing. Just another long night plane ride home for the BAU.
